Chef Tablet

The Chef Tablet works in conjunction with Chef to provide more flexibility in the kitchen. The Chef Tablet communicates wirelessly and has all the same functionality as Chef. To opt-in to Chef Tablet, contact Xenial at xenial.com/contact.

Chef Tablet Requirements

The Chef Tablet requirements are as follows:

  • A dedicated WiFi access point.

  • A Chef Tablet with a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768.

  • Chef Version 1.25.0 or higher.

Obtain Chef Device IP

Locate the Chef Device IP Address by one (1) of two (2) ways:

  • Chef Display Chef Status Network

  • Chef DisplayChef Tools GearAufbau Network Menu

To obtain the Chef Device IP through the Chef Status screen:

  1. From the lower-right of the Chef Device, select the Chef Status icon to the left of the Chef Tools gear.

  2. From the upper-left of the Chef Status screen, select Network.

  3. From the Network screen, note the IP Address.

To obtain the Chef Device IP through Chef Tools:

  1. From the lower-right of the Chef Device, select the Chef Tools gear to the right of the Chef Status icon.

  2. From the Chef Tools menus, select Configurations.

  3. From the Configuration tabs, select Network.

  4. From the Network screen, note the IP Address.

Launch Chef Tablet App

To launch the Chef Tablet application:

  1. From the Chef Tablet, launch the Chef Application.

  2. On the Opening Screen, type the IP of the Chef Device.

  3. From the Chef Device, acknowledge and accept the Chef Tablet connection.

  4. From the Chef Tablet, select Start Chef.
