Modifier Collections

To create a modifier collection:

  1. From the Xenial Portal homepage, select Data Management.

  2. From the Ordering Settings menu, select Modifiers.

  3. From the Modifiers menu, select Modifier Collections.

  4. From the Modifier Collection homepage, select New Modifier Collection.

    The following introduces the pages of the Modifier Collection editor.

    Description

    General

    Define general settings for a modifier collection including its name and active status.

    Modifiers

    Add individual modifiers to the collection.

    Groups

    Add modifier groups to the collection.

    Builds

    Add modifier builds to the collection.

    Categories

    Create and add modifier group categories for the collection.

    When a product is added to an order at the POS, the modifier group categories are displayed in the footer of the screen as selectable tabs.

    The order taker selects a category tab to access the associated modifier groups. Any unsorted modifier groups are accessed from the Other category.

General

Xenial Portal → Data Management → Ordering Settings → Modifiers → Modifier Collections

From the General page of the Modifier Collection editor, define general settings for a modifier collection:

  1. In the Name field, type a name for the modifier collection.

  2. Toggle Active to Active if the modifier collection is available for use at the site.

    • Multi-site users: From the right of the field, select the globe icon to define values for each site.

Modifiers

Xenial Portal → Data Management → Ordering Settings → Modifiers → Modifier Collections

From the Modifiers page of the Modifier Collections editor, add individual modifiers to a collection:

  1. From the Add Modifiers window, select the modifiers.

  2. From the lower-right, select Add [#] Modifiers.

  3. From the Modifiers section of the Modifiers page, select and drag the square to the left of the listed modifiers to sort them in the desired sequence.

Groups

Xenial Portal → Data Management → Ordering Settings → Modifiers → Modifier Collections

From the Groups page of the Modifier Collections editor, add modifier groups to a collection:

  1. From the Add Modifier Group window, select the modifier groups to add to the collection.

  2. From the lower-right, select Add # Modifier Groups.

  3. From the Modifier Groups section, select and drag the control to the left of the listed modifier groups to sort them in the desired sequence.

Builds

Xenial Portal → Data Management → Ordering Settings → Modifiers → Modifier Collections

From the Builds page of the Modifier Collections editor, add new and/or existing builds to a collection.

Select Existing Build

To add an existing build to a modifier collection:

  1. From the upper-right of the Builds section, select Select Existing Build.

  2. From the Select Existing Builds window, select the builds.

    The following is provided for each listed build:

    • The build type:

      • Augment - Modifiers are added to any modifiers already applied to the order item.

      • Replacement - Modifiers replace any modifiers already applied to the order item.

    • The modifiers included in the build.

  3. From the lower-right, select Add # Builds.

  4. From the Builds section, select and drag the control to the left of the listed builds to sort them in the desired sequence.

Add New Build

To add a new build to a modifier collection:

  1. From the dropdown in the upper-right of the Builds section, select Add New Build.

  2. From the New Build window, define the following:

    Field

    Description

    Name

    Type a name for the build.

    Build Type

    From the dropdown, select the method to apply the build modifiers to an order item at the POS:

    • Augment - Modifiers are added to any modifiers already applied to the order item.

    • Replacement - Modifiers replace any modifiers already applied to the order item.

    Active

    Toggle to Active if the build is available for use at the site.

  3. From the Build Items section of the New Build window, add modifiers to the build:

    • Select Add Modifier.

    • From the Add Modifiers To Build window, select individual modifiers and/or modifier groups.

      Tipp

      To view the modifiers included in a modifier group, select the right arrow next to the group name.

    • From the lower-right, select Add [#] Modifiers.

    • Toggle Quantifiable to Yes if the modifier is a fractional modifier.

      In the Quantity field, type the fractional modifier quantity.

    • In the Preparation Instructions field, type preparation instructions for the product for the kitchen staff. Format the text as needed.

      • Select the image icon The universal image icon. to upload an image. Valid image files: PNG, JPEG, and (single frame) GIF.

    • From the lower-right of the New Build window, select Done.

  4. From the Builds section, select and drag the control to the left of the listed builds to sort them in the desired sequence.

Categories

Xenial Portal → Data Management → Ordering Settings → Modifiers → Modifier Collections

From the Categories page of the Modifier Collection editor, add modifier group categories to a collection:

  1. Toggle Enabled to Yes to enable modifier group categories.

  2. From the Modifier Categories section, select Add Category.

  3. In the Name field of the Create Modifier Category window, type a name for the modifier category.

  4. From the Included Modifier Groups section, select the modifier groups to add to the category.

    • This list is populated with modifier groups from the Groups page of this modifier collection.

  5. From the lower-right, select Done.

  6. Repeat steps 2-5 to add additional modifier categories, as needed.

  7. From the Modifiers Categories section, select and drag the control to the left of the listed modifier categories to sort them in the desired sequence.
