Special Events

Use the Special Events utility to identify unique circumstances such as concerts, sporting events, promotions or other activities that can influence sales for a particular date and require possible changes to the employee schedule.

Things to Know

What is the difference between View and Change mode?

In View mode, the user may search and view special event records. The user does NOT have the ability to add or change any existing records.

In Change mode, the user has the ability to add and change special event records.

What filter options are available when searching special event records?

From the Store dropdown, filter the list of records by associated site. If a user only has access to a single site, records for that site are listed by default.

From the Custom field, select the calendar icon to choose a date range for the search.

Labor Special Events

  1. From the Store dropdown in the upper-left, select the specific site ID/name.

  2. From the Custom field, select the calendar icon to choose a date range for the search.

  3. In the calendar popup, adjust dates as needed and select Apply.

    It is also possible to select Period/Week, Today, or Yesterday as the search date or date range. Once the desired date range is configured, select Apply.

  4. In the Search field, type the date or description of the special event. Any records that match the search criteria are listed.

To add a special event:

  1. From the Store dropdown in the upper-left, select the store affected by the special event.

  2. In the Custom field, type the date range when the special event occurs -OR- select the calendar icon to select a date range from a popup calendar.

  3. From the Date column, locate the date when the special event occurs.

  4. In the Description field, type a description of the special event.

  5. From the upper-right of the Special Events screen, select Save.
