Create a Modifier Collection

To create a modifier collection:

  1. From the Xenial Portal, select Data Management.

  2. From the Ordering Settings menu, select Modifiers.

  3. Select Modifier Collections.

  4. Select New Modifier Collection.

  5. Configure the record as needed.

Define General Settings for a Modifier Collection

To define general settings for a modifier collection:

  1. Open the General page of the modifier collection record.

  2. In the Name field, type a name for the modifier collection.

  3. Set the Active toggle to Active if the modifier collection record is available at the site.

    • Multi-site users see Indicate the Active Status of a Record at Multiple Sites below.

Indicate the Active Status of a Record at Multiple Sites

Multi-site users define the active status of a record at selected sites using the Edit Active Status editor:

  1. Select the Active toggle to open the Edit Active Status editor.

    • All sites are listed by default. To filter the site list, select Sites to open the Site Selector -OR- select the down arrow next to the Sites button to select a single site from the dropdown list.

    • Use the Search field to locate a site on the list by name or number.

  2. Use the Active toggle at the top of the list to assign the same status to all listed sites -OR- select each site individually and use the Active toggle to indicate its status.

  3. Select Review Changes to review the updates.

  4. Select Add Sites to add additional sites to the update as necessary.

  5. Select Confirm and Close to confirm the updates. The down arrow next to Confirm and Close includes the following additional options:

    • Confirm and Return to View and Edit – Confirm the updates and return to the view and edit screen to make additional updates.

    • Confirm and Duplicate – Confirm and duplicate the updates for additional sites.

      If necessary, select Back to return to the view and edit screen without confirming the updates.

Add Modifiers to a Modifier Collection

To add individual modifiers to a modifier collection:

  1. Open the Modifiers page of the modifier collection record.

  2. Select Add Modifiers.

  3. On the Add Modifiers screen, select the square to the left of the desired modifiers.

  4. Select Add [#] Modifiers.

  5. From the Modifiers section of the Modifiers page, select and drag the square to the left of the listed modifiers to sort them in the desired sequence.

To filter the modifier list on the Add Modifiers window:

To add modifier groups to a modifier collection:

  1. Open the Groups page of the modifier collection record.

  2. Select Add Groups.

  3. Select the modifier groups to add to the collection.

  4. Select Add [#] Modifier Groups.

  5. From the Modifier Groups section of the Groups page, select and drag the square to the left of the listed modifier groups to sort them in the desired sequence.

Add a New Build to a Modifier Collection

To add a new build to a modifier collection:

  1. Open the Builds page of the modifier collection record.

  2. Select the down arrow next to Select Existing Build and select Add new Build from the dropdown.

  3. In the Name field, type a name for the build.

  4. From the Build Type dropdown, select how the build modifiers affect the modifiers that are already applied to the order item:

    • Augment - Modifiers are added to any modifiers already applied to the order item.

    • Replacement - Modifiers replace any modifiers already applied to the order item.

  5. Set the Active toggle to Active if the build is available for use at the site.

  6. Select Add Modifier.

  7. Select the individual modifiers and/or modifier groups to add to the build.

    • To view the modifiers included in a modifier group, select the right arrow next to the group name.

  8. Select Add [#] Modifiers.

    • The selected modifiers are listed in the Build Items section of the New Build form.

  9. In the Quantity field of the Build Items section, type the modifier quantity included in the build (if applicable).

  10. (Optional) In the Preparation Instructions field, type instructions for the kitchen staff on how to prepare the build modifiers.

    • Select the image icon The universal image icon. to upload an image to include with the instructions. Accepted image files: PNG, JPEG, and (single frame) GIF

  11. Select Done to save and close the New Build form.

  12. Select and drag the control to the left of the listed builds to sort them in the desired sequence.

Add an Existing Build to a Modifier Collection

To add an existing build to a modifier collection:

  1. Open the Builds page of the modifier collection record.

  2. Select Select Existing Build.

  3. From the Select Existing Builds window, select the builds to add to the collection.

    • The modifiers included in each build are listed in the Included Modifiers column for reference.

  4. Select Add [#] Builds.

Create Categories for a Modifier Collection

Create modifier group categories for a modifier collection to facilitate the order entry process.

When an order taker adds a product to an order, the modifier group categories in the assigned modifier collection are displayed at the bottom of the Order Entry screen as selectable tabs.

The order taker selects a category tab to access the associated modifier groups and select the modifier(s) requested by the customer.

To add modifier group categories to a modifier collection:

  1. Open the Categories page of the modifier collection record.

  2. Set the Enabled toggle to Yes.

  3. Select Add Category.

  4. From the Create Modifier Category window:

    • In the Name field of the Create Modifier Category window, type a name for the modifier category.

    • Select the modifier groups to add to the category.

      • This list is populated with the modifier groups that were added to the Groups page of this modifier collection record.

    • Select Done.

Repeat steps 3-4 to create additional categories, if desired.

From the Modifier Categories section of the Categories page, select and drag the control to the left of the listed categories to sort them in the desired sequence.
